Jul 05, 2017

2016 was not a particularly good year for a lot of people, so with 2017 coming in, one can never be sure of what’s in store for them. The one thing that they can control is staying true to their New Year’s resolution and aim to make themselves trim and fit for this year.

Here are some must follow diet and fitness tips for 2017:

1. Beat temptations

We all know that it’s never easy to see a freshly opened Nutella jar and to not mess up the perfect texture with our finger to have just a little taste. That ‘just a little’ is also filled with a lot of unwanted calories.

The first step is to beat these temptations. Make up your mind and say no to junk food and sugary drinks. If you can do that, you are halfway there.

2. Eat only healthy foods

It may seem a bit harsh, but this is an important step to take if you want to have a healthy lifestyle. It is important to mention this because today, it is very easy to grab snacks from a vending machine which may make you feel fuller, but is extremely unhealthy for you.

Make a diet plan that involves the least number of carbs and the most number of proteins. These include:

  • Egg Whites (boiled not fried)
  • Bran
  • Oatmeal
  • Steamed or boiled meat (preferably chicken)
  • Fruits and Vegetables

It is difficult to follow a specific diet plan as it means you have to cook your own food and be specific about what you eat, but get started on it and you will slowly develop a habit. Next time you visit the grocery store, make sure you get all the required things you need to prepare healthy meals at home and for work.

3. Move it!

Someone who has excess fat cannot come down to their desired weight with a healthy diet alone. There is a requirement for physical activity to burn those excess calories. Being physically active also allows you to have a cheat day in your diet.

This does not necessarily mean that you have to join over priced gyms; you can just develop healthy habits of waking up early and exercising for a bit. Go out for a jog early morning with your favorite playlist, or you could even jog in the evening if you have trouble waking up.

The objective here is to move it! Do that every day and you will feel good all day.

4. Have fun but don’t bloat

Everybody wants to have a good time out with friends, which means having a couple of beers on the weekend at the local pub. For someone who is following a healthy diet, bloating drinks like beers should be your enemy.

Instead, go for these drinks but hold the mixers:

  • Gin
  • Tequila
  • Vodka

It can be difficult for people to have a drink without mixers, but that is the price you have to pay if you want to stay in trim shape.

Follow these four tips and greet 2017 with a challenging smile. Beat those temptations and achieve the body that you have always wanted.
