The winter season may be going, but it has left behind the aftermaths of over eating and less fat burning. It is natural that in cold weather, we tend to feel hungrier than we usually do. This is because our body is constantly working to keep us warm.

Plus it’s just hard resisting all that delicious holiday food when you are at the table and the aroma is just constantly whetting your appetite.

This means that a lot of excess fat gets stored in our bodies and since the weather is cold, we cannot sweat it out as much as we can in the summer.

For people who want to get rid of the winter bod, here are a few tips to follow:

1. Cut the Booze

Since it was the holiday season and everyone was celebrating, you couldn’t but help join in. It’s now time to cut back and let the booze be for a while. Alcohol increases a person’s appetite which is why you may find yourself eating more than you usually do at bars or gatherings.

Make a note to stay away from alcohol for a while and you should be on the track to getting your pre-winter body back.

2. Get organized

One of the main reasons why people don’t eat healthy is the fact that they are too lazy to prepare meals for themselves. Fast is easy but also bad for your body. Plan out what you need to buy to prepare good meals for yourself at home and pack it for work.

Include food items that are high in fiber and scratch off the things that are high in calories. That includes mayonnaise and other spreads. Go for salads and steamed or grilled food for a healthier lifestyle.

3. Be realistic

Why is this important? It’s important because unless you set realistic goals, you won’t achieve them. If you think that after eating healthy, you will be able to lose all the winter fat and end up looking like a movie star, you’re better off staying where you are.

Set weight goals that are achievable so you feel the accomplishment and are motivated to keep going.

4. Stock before going to an event

Eat at home before going to a party so you don’t snack on things which may add to your weight. Going to a party hungry will make you eat a lot more than you would at home. It’s good food, it’s free and there’s a lot of it, so naturally you would want to have it.

Eat your own meals at home and have a few nibbles at the party.

5. Get going

Losing winter fat has a lot to do with your physical routine. If you have a desk job, remember that you will be putting on more weight than you usually do. It’s just the way things are. You sit too long in an office chair and your natural posture becomes similar to that of an overweight person’s.

Jog everyday for 15 minutes to keep yourself trim while eating healthy.
